SRINAGAR: Three officials were martyred in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Kashmir's Anantnag district. Two Army personnel and a Deputy Superintendent of Jammu Police were martyred. The encounter took place after terrorists hiding in the Kokernag area of Anantnag launched an attack.
Rajasthan Rifles Commanding Officer (Colonel) Manpreet Singh, Company Commander Major Ashish and DSP Humayun Bhatt were martyred. Earlier, security forces had killed two terrorists in Rajouri. A soldier was martyred in an encounter in Rajouri last day. Three people were injured. Army dog squad dog Kent also lost his life in the fight.
