MALAPPURAM: The histopathology report confirmed that beating caused the death of Tamir Jifry while he was in police custody. According to the report prepared by the Pathology Department of Manjeri Medical College, the cause of death of Tamir Jifry is the trauma to the heart following the beating.


Chemical test results in this regard have also been submitted to the court. The tests were conducted at Kozhikode Regional Chemical Examination Centre and Manjeri Pathology Lab. The presence of drugs, methamphetamine, has also been found in the body of Tamir Jifry.


According to the report, the assault led to a heart attack. The post-mortem report also stated that the cause of death was beating. The High Court had earlier ordered that all the documents, including the case diary, should be handed over to the CBI immediately. The High Court order was on a petition filed by Tamir Geoffrey's brother, Harris Jifry.
