KOZHIKODE: One more person has been confirmed with Nipah in the district. A 39-year-old youth under observation in the hospital was diagnosed with the disease. With this, the number of active cases has risen to four.

The condition of the nine-year-old on ventilator after being diagnosed with Nipah, remains critical. The condition of the 24-year-old health worker and the dead Muhammad's brother-in-law (25) is satisfactory. Monoclonal antibody has been brought for the treatment.

The body fluids of eleven health workers were sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune yesterday for testing. All eleven test results turned negative. There are 950 people including 287 health workers in the contact list.

Meantime, a high-level meeting will be held in Kozhikode today under the leadership of ministers following the confirmation of Nipah. Ministers Veena George, Muhammad Riyas, A K Saseendran and Ahmed Devarkovil will attend the meeting. The meeting will be convened at 10 in the morning. Minister Riyas will hold a review meeting with the representatives of the affected areas.
