NEW DELHI: RSS Joint General Secretary Manmohan Vaidya expressed concern over the Manipur conflict. The reaction of the RSS comes when the opposition alleges that there was moderate intervention from the central government in the conflict that has been going on for months. Manmohan Vaidya said in Pune that he got to know about the situation in Manipur from the members there.
He said that the workers in Manipur informed him about the conflict between the Meitei-Kuki sects. The RSS leader also stated that the government should take a decision on the conflict. The RSS leadership's remarks are seen as a weapon handed over ahead of the next special session of Parliament to the opposition, which has moved a no-confidence motion on the Manipur issue.
At present, there are shootings and looting being reported from Manipur on a daily basis. A police officer was shot dead in Manipur's Churachandpur last day. The incident took place on the afternoon of September 13. A sub-inspector named Holkhomang Haokip was killed. He was shot in the head. Two people who were shot on the same day are undergoing treatment. Last day, three Kuki sect members were killed in a clash between two factions in Kangpokpi district.
