NEW DELHI: A woman and her daughter died after a mini lorry ran over people who were sleeping on the roadside. The incident took place yesterday at 5.30 am at Civil Line in North Delhi. The deceased have been identified as Jyoti (32) and her daughter, residents of Majnu Ka Tilla. Three people including her husband and daughter were injured. Locals handed over the lorry driver Dinesh Rai (34) to the police. He has been visibly assaulted. The seriously injured woman was rushed to the hospital but died.

A family living in a hut near the road was sleeping on the road because of the heat.
