THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Ahammad Devarkovil noted on Facebook that the cargo ship Zhen Hua which left for Kerala's dream project, Vizhinjam port, has passed Singapore. The minister's note was along with the video of the ship's arrival in Singapore. The minister shared the video stating that it was sent by a Malayali friend from Singapore.

Minister Ahammad Devarkovil had announced in a press conference yesterday that the first ship will reach Vizhinjam on October 4. The cargo ship from China is coming with large cranes needed for the port. Later that day at 4 pm, a reception will be held under the leadership of
Sarbananda Sonowal, Cabinet Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the ceremony. The second ship will arrive on October 28 followed by the rest of the cargo ships arriving on November 11 and 14.
Three-quarters of the breakwater in the harbour has been built. The construction of the 400-meter berth to be completed in the first phase has reached its final stage. The name and logo of the port will be released by the Chief Minister at a function to be held at Mascot Hotel, Thiruvananthapuram on October 20.
