NEW DELHI: Janata Dal (S) has decided to work with the National Democratic Alliance. Former Karnataka Chief Minister and JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda today. Nadda responded through X that they warmly welcome JDS to NDA.
Pictures of Kumaraswamy with BJP President Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant were posted on social media. Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP leader Yeddyurappa had earlier confirmed JDS's entry into NDA. He also informed that it has been decided to give four seats out of 28 in the state to JDS. At the same time, Kumaraswamy clarified that there has been no discussion about the division of seats. BJP had won 25 out of 28 seats in 2019. JDS won only in one seat.

However, the JDS Kerala unit has clarified that it will not join the NDA. State President Mathew T Thomas informed that the state committee has been called for the 7th of next month. Power Minister K Krishnankutty is a JDS member.
