KOCHI: Salma George responded to criticism regarding K G George being moved to an old age home by Salma and their children after taking control of his entire assets.

K G George was transferred to the Signature Geriatric Centre with a doctor, nurse and physiotherapist because he was not healthy enough to bathe, lift and care for himself independently due to a stroke. Their son resides in Goa and their daughter is in Doha. Salma says that she went to Goa with their son as there was no one available in Ernakulam to provide care for her.

Salma says that both she and her children sincerely cared for him to ensure he did not face any difficulties until his death. He wished for a peaceful, suffering-free death. He was content to have passed away without prolonged bed rest. Those who claim that his property was seized and he was abandoned like curry leaves do not know the truth. You cannot silence a barking dog.

He directed numerous outstanding films and earned the reputation of a great director. Apart from his fame, he did not accumulate much wealth. There is no other director of such immense talent in the history of Malayalam cinema and there likely will never be another like him. He had aspirations to create a horror film and a movie titled "Kamamohitham" but unfortunately those projects remained unrealized.

It was his desire not to have his body buried in a church. He insisted that his body should be cremated at a public crematorium, regardless of others' opinions. Despite opposition from some relatives, his wishes were respected. In his view, cremation was sufficient; he had no affiliation with the church. Salma also mentioned that she did not have a strong inclination to attend church services. While faith and prayer are important, they can be practiced at home. Salma stated that their children are free to call upon and pray to the God of their choice.
