KALPETTA: As many as 10 people were injured after a lorry collided with a KSRTC bus in Wayanad. The accident took place at around 6. 45 a.m. near Kainatty. The KSRTC bus involved in the accident was travelling from Nadavayal to Changanassery. Lorry driver Chandran, a native of Karnataka, sustained a serious leg injury. Chandran, who got trapped in the cabin, was pulled out of the lorry by the Fire Force.
The other injured people are bus passengers Shahana, Francis, Ninu, Ushabhai, Naseema Millumukku, Manikandan Kambalakkadu, Ayisha, Vineeth Pulppally, bus driver Baavan and conductor Arun. They are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kalpetta. According to sources, the lorry coming from the Kalpetta town side took the wrong direction and collided with the bus.
