THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: ISRO on Saturday said that the Aditya L1 probe launched by India to observe the Sun has reached a distance of 9.2 lakh km from the Earth.
It is the first time since Mangalyaan that India has launched a probe from Earth into deep space. Now the spacecraft is out of Earth's gravitational pull. The probe is under the observation and control of ISRO centres in Andaman, Fiji and Bengaluru. Aditya is moving towards Lagrange Point 1, which is 15 lakh km from Earth. It will take about four months. ISRO added that the probe is moving faster than expected.
