HANGZHOU: Malayali athlete Ancy Sojan won the silver medal in the women's long jump at the Asian Games.Ancy, who registered a career-best performance of 6.63m, won the silver medal. Ancy won the medal in her fifth attempt. China's Xiong Shiqi won gold with a jump of 6.73m.

Another Indian player, Shaili Singh, could only finish fifth. Shaili Singh's best distance was 6.48m. Ancy registered 6.13 on the first attempt, 6.49 on the second attempt, 6.56 on the third attempt and 6.30 meters on the fourth attempt. With this, India's total medal tally has reached 59. India has 13 gold, 23 silver and bronze medals in its account.
