BHOPAL: An order has been issued to demolish the house of the accused who raped a 12-year-old girl at Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. The Ujjain Municipal Corporation clarified that the house is constructed illegally. The auto driver identified as Bharat Soni, the accused in the case was arrested on Thursday.

The officials of the Ujjain Municipal Corporation said that Bharat and his family have been living in the house built on government land for many years. Municipal Commissioner Roshan Singh clarified that there is no need to issue a notice to demolish the house as the land belongs to the government. The house will be demolished tomorrow with the help of the Madhya Pradesh Police.

Shocking visuals of the rape victim lying half-naked, bleeding and knocking house-to-house for help had emerged on September 26. The incident took place on Badnagar Road, 15 km from Ujjain. The girl had knocked every door for help but was shooed away. No one came to help her. Then she reached an ashram and a priest there admitted her to a nearby hospital. It was found that she was raped during medical examination.

After the visuals surfaced, there was widespread protests against those who shooed away the girl. The police later informed that legal action will be taken against the locals. Ujjain Superintendent of Police Jayant Singh Rathore informed that a case will be filed against the local residents for not helping the girl or inform the police.
