THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan's son, Bineesh Kodiyeri has responded to the high controversy regarding the body not being brought to the capital for public homage. He wrote in a Facebook post.

Facebook post(roughly translated)

Dear friends,

The allegation that my mother stated that after my father's passing, my brother and I requested to bring my father's body to Thiruvananthapuram but the party did not agree to it is completely untrue. As a member of the family, I also request that people reject these baseless accusations against the late Kodiyeri.

Right-wing politics is attempting to misinterpret my mother's words and use them against the party. I have elaborated on this matter in detail during my interviews with the Reporter Channel and Manorama Channel.

My mother's emotional state after my father's departure is indescribable. I humbly request everyone not to further disturb her by presenting such scandalous interpretations.

Everyone has witnessed the scrutiny that Kodiyeri, who was the party leader faced. As a part of the family, I request that these campaigns by those who claim that everything is now for Kodiyeri are a deliberate attempt to portray the CPM and its leadership negatively in the eyes of the public.
