HANGZHOU: Hangzhou Asian Games with India's gold chase in athletics. Yesterday in athletics, Parul Chaudhary won gold in women's 5000m and Annu Rani won gold in javelin throw while Muhammad Afzal made Kerala proud by winning silver in men's 800m. With Tejaswin Shankar's silver in the decathlon, Vidya Ramaraj's bronze in the women's 400m hurdles and Praveen Chitravel's bronze in the triple jump, India bagged six medals from athletics alone yesterday.

In boxing, Preeti and Narender won bronze, while Olympic medalist Lovlina Borgohain kept her gold hopes alive by reaching the final. Arjun Singh and Sunil Singh Salam won bronze in canoeing sprint. India secured three medals in squash individual events and remains at the fourth position with 69 medals including 15 gold, 26 silver and 28 bronze. China is in first place with 297 medals including 161 gold.
