NEW DELHI: The ED raided the residence of Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh in connection with the liquor policy case in Delhi. A team of EDs reached the MP's house and conducted a raid. ED had already raided the houses of many people who are closely related to the MP.

This move comes after Sanjay's name was included in the charge sheet related to the case. Senior Aam Aadmi Party leaders responded that the raid came after Sanjay Singh raised the Adani issue in Parliament.

"Sanjay had talked about the Adani issue and the black money investment in the company, ED had not been able to find anything in the raid earlier and will not be able to find anything again. So there is no fear'" Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson Reena Gupta responded. The ED had raided the houses of a few journalists in the past few days and the MP's house is being raided today, Gupta added.

According to the ED's chargesheet, Dinesh Arora, an accused in the liquor policy case, met Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at his residence in the presence of Sanjay Singh. Dinesh has stated the ED that he met Sanjay Singh at an event and then became close to former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

According to the ED report, accused Dinesh Arora and Sanjay Singh first met during a party at Manish Sisodia's Unplugged Courtyard restaurant. According to the report, Dinesh had established relations with many restaurant owners and received money on the instructions of the MP to collect money for the upcoming elections. Dinesh handed over Rs 32 lakh to Sisodia. ED has also found that Sanjay Singh solved a problem of Dinesh related to the liquor industry.
