VADAKKENCHERRY: Housewife died of electrocution from electric trap set for wild boar. Gracie (63) wife of late Chakochan, is the one who died. The body was found in a field near Gracie's home.
Gracie was living alone. The electricity for the trap was drawn from Gracie's home itself. A person who went to sell fish was the one who saw the body at 8.30 am on Wednesday. It is possible that the death occurred on Tuesday. No one saw the body because no one went to this area much. In order to repel wild boar and other wild animals, electricity was taken from the hall and kitchen of the house through cables and passed to the wires installed near the house. It is being investigated whether it was Gracie herself who set up the electric trap. After an autopsy, the body was buried in the Mapilapota Maryland church cemetery.
Alathur DYSP R Ashokan, Mangalamdam CI Shabirpasha and Additional SI Sajeevkumar reached the spot. Gracie was a member of the Elanad Jeerakam family.
