KARUVANNUR: The Ernakulam PMLA court has ordered the immediate transfer of PR Aravindakshan and Jins, accused in the Karuvannur bank fraud case, to Ernakulam sub jail. The jail department had transferred PR Aravindakshan to the district jail where Satheesh Kumar, the main accused in the black money transaction, was on remand, and the ED alleged that this was to sabotage the investigation. The court accepted the ED's request to transfer both of them.
The ED had filed a report in a special court against the jail superintendent who transferred Aravindakshan to the district jail where Satheesh Kumar is on remand. The ED alleged that the opportunity to meet Satheesh Kumar and Aravindakshan was to sabotage the investigation. The jail superintendent explained that they were transferred due to the large number of prisoners.
But only Aravindakshan and Jins were transferred to jail. Despite the 110 inmates in the 60-capacity jail, no action was taken. The jail department changed the accused's jail on September 29 without informing the court or the ED.
