KOCHI: The Kerala High Court has directed the police to release the equipment seized by the police during a raid on the office of the Marunadan Malayali online channel. The court directed the police to return the monitors and computers seized from the channel's office immediately.
The court asked why all the equipment of the channel was seized in a case that was registered under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. The court also told the police that such a case should be proved on the basis of statements. The court directed that all the equipment seized by the police should be handed over to the channel within a week.
