RANCHI: National shooting star Tara Shahdeo's ex-husband was sentenced to life imprisonment for forced religious conversion after marriage. The special CBI court in Ranchi passed the sentence. National shooting star Tara Shahdeo’s ex-husband Ranjit Kohli alias Raqibul Hassan was found guilty by the court.
The punishment comes six years after the central agency first filed a charge sheet on a complaint filed by Tara Shahdeo. Raqibul was sentenced to life imprisonment and his mother Kausar Rani was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The then High Court registrar Mushtaq Ahmed was also sentenced to 15 years in prison for conspiracy.
Tara married Raqibul Hassan on 7th June 2014.
