KOTTAYAM: A fire broke out at the Kerala Paper Products Limited (KPPL) in Velloor. The incident happened today evening. The fire broke out in a part of the paper-making machine. The machine was completely burnt. The fire has been completely extinguished.

The whole area was filled with black smoke following the fire. The fire, which lasted for 45 minutes, was put out by the Fire Force unit from Kaduthuruthy. A major accident was averted as the workers moved out of the mill after seeing the fire. The preliminary conclusion is that a short circuit was the cause of the fire.
