WASHINGTON: Six months after the suffocation death of a seven-year-old girl in New York, two leading companies have been ordered to recall 70 million candies. The recommendation is from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The CPSC has ordered the return of 70 million units of slime liker sour rolling liquid candy from Indiana-based company Candy Dynamics and 145,800 units of rolling candy in various flavors manufactured by a Turkish company.

Officials of the CPSC Commission said that the candies contain a rolling ball which can get stuck in the throat. It has been informed that such products should not be given to children and the money should be taken back from the companies.

A seven-year-old girl diedchoking on a ball that dislodged from a cocco rollerball candy product. The commission observed that the products were sold in various stores and on the companies' websites in the United States from May 2022 to March this year.

The candies were mainly sold in strawberry, tutti-fruity and cola flavors. Blue, red, green and pink colored candies were available in the markets. The commission also informed that these were labeled as toxic waste and mega toxic waste. The candies in flavors like Raz Blue, Strawberry, Black

Cherry and Apple have been recalled. The codes for the recalled products can be found on the Commission's website.Meanwhile, the commission also stated that Candy Dynamics has removed the rolling ball from its products.
