AHMEDABAD: Tarun Jinaraj the husband who was on bail in the case of murdering Malayali woman Sajini, has been arrested. Ahmedabad police arrested him from the Najafgarh area of Delhi. The police were searching for him for one and a half months. The police said that the man, who was released on bail, had been absconding since the last week of September under the name of Justin Joseph.
Sajini (26), daughter of OK Krishnan and Yamini, a native of Thrissur Viyyoor was found dead in her house in Ahmedabad in February 2003. Tarun Jinaraj, the accused in the case, was arrested in 2018 after 15 years. Then he was released on bail for 15 days on August 4, while he was lodged in Sabarmati Jail. The police team issued a warrant against him when he did not come back even after the bail period was over.
When he was out on bail, Tarun complained to the Katti police station saying that his identity documents were lost for creating a new name and address. After that, he went to Najafgarh where he also got an online marketing job. He also created a fake Aadhaar in the name of Justin Joseph. He was staying in a house as a paying guest.
Tarun shaved his head to remain unrecognizable and got new tattoos on his neck and wrists. The police said that the accused had planned to enter Australia from Delhi. The police arrested the accused based on his mobile phone records.
