CAIRO: Two Israeli tourists have reportedly been killed in Egypt as clashes continue between the Israeli army and Palestinian militants, Hamas. An Egyptian national was also killed. It is reported that an Egyptian policeman shot at them.
A policeman fired unprovokedly at Israeli tourists who came to visit the city of Alexandria in Egypt. There are reports that the policeman was immediately arrested.
Meanwhile, the Israel-Hamas war continues to rage. It is reported that 350 Israeli citizens were killed. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the country was at war after Hamas launched an attack called 'Operation Al-Aqsa Flood' yesterday morning. 313 Palestinians have been killed so far in Israel's counter-attack. The Israeli army informs that the operation is still going on in eight places. Israel is carrying out a counter-attack under the name of 'Operation Iron Sword'.
It is reported that many Indians are trapped in conflict zones. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma informed that Rajya Sabha MP and senior National People's Party leader Dr Wanweiroy Kharlukhi, his wife and daughter are trapped in Bethlehem. It is reported that twenty-four Indians who were with them are also trapped. It is reported that they went to Jerusalem for pilgrimage and got stuck in Bethlehem due to the sudden attack.
Conrad Sangma stated that the Ministry of External Affairs has been contacted regarding the safe return of all the stranded Indian nationals including the MP. It is reported that the MP, his family and other Indians will be shifted to Egypt today.
