Manu who worked as an auto driver and Meenu who was born paralyzed from the waist down became front-page news in Kerala Kaumudi on October 17, 2019.

Within a month, the chairman of Kaushala Corporation KS Sunilkumar visited Meenu's home and gifted her an electric wheelchair worth more than one lakh rupees. Meenu also faced health challenges including malfunctioning heart valves, hearing loss and an inoperable tumour on her back.
