THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Tenders have been invited from eligible agencies for the survey work related to land acquisition for the proposed Sabarimala airport. The last date for the submission of tenders is the 21st of the month. KSIDC has decided to conduct a survey of the land to be acquired for the construction of the airport and complete the survey work including boundary registration, within three months. The goal is to finish the construction of the airport before 2027, using a public-private partnership model similar to Kannur and Nedumbassery airports. The distance from the new airport to Sabarimala is 48 km. The government is acquiring 2268.13 acres of Cheruvalli estate near Erumeli for this purpose. Additionally, 307 acres will be acquired east-west of the estate for the runway. In the first phase, this part will be surveyed.
