ABU DHABI: The government in Abu Dhabi has issued a special notice for residents. On October 9, authorities issued a warning regarding the use of vehicles on the city's main roads. Certain important roads in the city are temporarily restricted to special vehicles. This measure enforced collaboratively by the Abu Dhabi Police and the Road Transport Authority is in effect for one day only.
Buses carrying more than 50 passengers are prohibited from using Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street specifically from Sheikh Zayed Bridge to Sheikh Zayed Tunnel during the busy morning and evening hours on Monday. This restriction is applicable solely on October 9 and was communicated through a social media post.
The ban hours are from 6.30 am to 9 am and from 3 pm to 7 pm. This limitation has been put in place to enhance road safety and streamline traffic flow. The Abu Dhabi Police General Command has issued clear instructions for drivers not to travel during these specified hours and to adhere strictly to traffic regulations.
Both the police and the transport authority have increased their vigilance to identify and penalize those who violate this rule. Violators will face substantial fines.
