BHOPAL: An opinion poll conducted by the ABP-CVoter mentioned a change of rule in Madhya Pradesh going to polls on November 17. The dates of elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh were announced the other day. The dates for Telangana and Mizoram state assembly elections ruled by regional parties were also announced. Polling will be held in Chhattisgarh on November 7 and 17, Mizoram on November 7, Madhya Pradesh on November 17, Rajasthan on November 23 and Telangana on November 30. The votes will be counted on December 3 in all five places.

With the announcement of dates, political parties are busy making election strategies. In 2018, the Congress captured power by winning 114 seats but was routed finally and this time it is a battle of pride in Madhya Pradesh. Congress came to power in Madhya Pradesh, which was ruled by BJP since 2003, but Jyotiraditya Scindia's 'cheating' backfired.


Scindia joined the BJP with two dozen MLAs then. With this, the BJP, which had 109 seats got the majority. Kamal Nath government collapsed. Shivraj Chauhan, who was the chief minister since 2005, became the chief minister again. The Congress is trying to take revenge under the leadership of Kamal Nath this time. The reports that came in said the situation is favorable for the Congress in the state.


An opinion poll conducted by ABP-CVoters suggested that there will be a change in rule through a neck-to-neck fight in Madhya Pradesh. The survey indicated that the Congress will topple the BJP government with an absolute majority. As part of the survey, when spoke with the voters, it was opined that would win 113 to 125 seats out of the 230 seats. The opinion poll also clarified that the BJP is likely to get 104 to 116 seats.


If examined the voting percentage, the BJP will get 0.1 percent votes than the Congress. Congress is predicted to get 44.6 percent vote share. The BJP will get 44.7 percent vote share and BSP 2.1 percent vote share. Other parties are predicted to get 8.6 percent of the vote.


Meantime, Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar informed that the code of conduct has come into effect from yesterday. The NDA-India front could also be interpreted as a test of strength as the country faces general elections three to four months after the state assembly elections. It will also be an assessment of the Modi government seeking a third term. Women's reservation and caste census will be the topics for electioneering. Modi in BJP and Rahul and Priyanka in Congress are the star campaigners.
