NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi promised to give a monthly stipend of Rs 1500 to women in Madhya Pradesh if Congress wins the upcoming state election. Along with this, the Congress party also vowed to give gas cylinders at Rs 500 if the party ascends to power.
Rahul was speaking at the ‘Jan Aakrosh’ rally in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh.
“Congress will help save the people of Madhya Pradesh from the harmful policies created in the BJP laboratory. Congress doesn't believe in Modi's promises like Rs 15 lakh bank deposit to every Indian. We only offer promises that we can pull off. Five assurances given in Karnataka have been implemented. The caste Census will solve various problems faced by the country. The prime minister, who talks about all things concerning the world, won't utter a word about caste census.” Rahul Gandhi said.
“Madhya Pradesh is the laboratory of BJP and RSS for conducting anti-people policies. During the 18 years of BJP rule, there were 18,000 farmer suicides in the state. There was the sale of MBBS seats, the Vyapam scam and the incident where a BJP leader urinated on a tribal. Many women had to endure the worst nightmare of rapes during BJP rule. “
Rahul also promised to give all the land allotted to the tribals during the Congress rule. PCC President Kamal Nath, AICC General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala, former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh and others were in attendance during the rally.
