KOCHI: After two days of interrogation in the Karuvannur bank fraud case, ED informed the court that CPM leader P R Aravindakshan and former bank accountant C K Jills had not fully disclosed information related to financial transactions and were uncooperative with the investigation. This information was presented in the remand report during their appearance in a special court.
The main accused, P R Aravindakshan was identified by his voice in a mobile audio recording seized from Satheesh Kumar. Upon hearing this, he admitted to his voice being present in the recording but refused to divulge the circumstances or details of the transaction. There is evidence suggesting that Jills was involved in a loan fraud amounting to five crore rupees. Despite questioning Jills declined to provide information about certain people involved in the money transactions. The ED has requested the court to remand both accused in custody citing concerns that granting bail could lead to evidence tampering and witness influence.
Furthermore, the ED urged that the accused be placed in a different jail facility avoiding contact with Satheesh Kumar, who is detained at Kakkanad District Jail. The court subsequently ordered both individuals to be remanded in judicial custody for a period of two weeks. The bail application filed by Aravindakshan and C K Jills has been adjourned until tomorrow.
