NEW DELHI The Delhi Patiala House Court remanded Newsclick founder editor Prabir Purkayastha and HR chief Amit Chakraborty to ten days of judicial custody, who were arrested in the UAPA case. After the custodial interrogation, the Delhi Police Special Cell produced both of them in the court. The Delhi High Court adjourned the petition filed by both. In this regard, the police yesterday did not ask to be released from their custody.

Prabir's lawyer opposed remanding him in judicial custody and sending him to jail. The government lawyer clarified that the arrest was based on allegations of receiving foreign funds from those working for China's interests. At the same time, it is reported that more than 25 media workers have been interrogated by the Delhi Police for the second time.

The Founding Editor of Newsclick said that UAPA against him will not last. There is no allegation that bombs or other explosives were used, and there is no complaint against him of killing anyone or committing violence. He also asked what terrorist act is said to have been carried out. He also stated that journalists cannot be punished for criticizing the government
