NEW DELHI: Mukesh Ambani, the Chairman of Reliance Industries has become India's wealthiest person surpassing Gautam Adani, the Chairman of the Adani Group according to the latest joint report by Hurun 360 and One Wealth. Ambani's assets have reached Rs 8,08,700 crore marking a two percent increase from last year. On the other hand, Gautam Adani holding the second position has a net worth of Rs 4,74,800 crore but his assets dropped by 57 percent following a decline in Adani's shares due to the Hindenburg Research report.
Byju Ravindran from the ed-tech platform Byju’s was not included in the list. The founder of the Serum Institute of India, Cyrus S Poonawala secured the third position with a total wealth of Rs 2,78,500 crores. Shiv Nadar of HCL maintained the fourth spot with assets valued at Rs 2,28,900 crore. Gopichand Hinduja and his family ranked fifth with Rs 1,76,500 crore while Dilip Sanghvi, the founder of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries claimed the sixth position with Rs 1,64,300 crore. The youngest person on the list is 20-year-old Kaivalya Vora, who founded Septo.
Other notable figures on the list include Lakshmi Mittal and family (seventh) with assets of Rs 1,62,300 crore, Radhakishan Damani of Avenue Supermarket (eighth) with assets of Rs 1,43,900 crore and Kumar Mangalam Birla and family of Aditya Birla Group (ninth) with assets of Rs 1,25,600 crore. Neeraj Bajaj and family of Bajaj Auto secured the tenth position with assets totalling Rs 1,20,700 crore. Meanwhile, Vinod Adani and Uday Kottak are no longer among India's top 10 wealthiest people.
Radha Vembu of Soho claimed the title of the richest woman surpassing Falguni Nayyar of Nykaa. The list includes a total of 1,319 people with wealth exceeding Rs 1,000 crore.
