THODUPUZHA: Relatives could not perform the funeral of husband who died in a car accident as his wife, who was stuck in Israel, could not come home.O P Radhakrishnan (52) died after being hit by a pickup van while travelling on a scooter at Vengallurkolani bypass around 8.30 pm on Monday.

He was taken to Memorial Hospital but could not be saved. The accident happened while he was coming to town on a scooter to buy food. His wife Maya recently went to work in Israel. It is still uncertain whether she will return home. Union Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan is making efforts to bring Maya home in connection with the Indian Embassy in Israel. The suspension of flight services from Israel is creating difficulties.
