AHMEDABAD: The Ahmedabad crime branch arrested a youth for sending an e-mail threat attack on the Narendra Modi Stadium in Gujarat. The youth arrested is staying at Rajkot in Gujarat. The officials informed that the accused has no criminal background. The officials of the crime branch said there is no other information in his e-mail. The youth of Madhya Pradesh is staying in Rajkot. He sent the mail from his phone. Security has been intensified following the threat.

The stadium is one of the venues of the one-day cricket between India and Pakistan on October 14. Following the threat, top police officers had instructed to arrange strict security arrangements at the stadium. Officials said more than 11,000 personnel of various agencies like Gujarat Police, NSG, RAF and home guards among others will be deployed to implement security arrangements during the India-Pakistan one-day match held on October14.
