NEW DELHI: Actor Akshay Kumar has opened up about the respect he gets when he goes abroad with an Indian passport. The actor who recently got an Indian passport disclosed this in an interview. Akshay Kumar said that he is proud of the achievements of the country after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister.

'When we travel to other countries, we understand that our country has progressed a step further. Showing our Indian passport gives us so much respect at airports. They ask, are you from Modi's country?' - said Akshay Kumar.

Meanwhile, in another interview, he had denied the claim that Akshay Kumar is a BJP campaigner. 'Such campaigns are done under the misconception that I am making pro-BJP films. They say that I acted acted in 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' to promote the Swachh Bharat Mission. I did not respond to this, said Akshay Kumar. He also clarified that what matters is not who comes to power, but what they have done for the progress of the country.
