A video of an old woman doing a skydive recently went viral on social media. Dorothy Hoffner, a 104-year-old woman, is certified by the Guinness Book as the oldest woman to do a skydive. She has now sadly passed away after fulfilling her wish.
The record was previously held by a 103-year-old Swedish woman.
Hoffner’s close friend, Joe Conant, said she was found dead Monday morning by staff at the Brookdale Lake View senior living community. Conant said Hoffner apparently died in her sleep on Sunday night.
The record-breaking skydive was from the Chicago airport on October 1. The video of Dorothy diving into the sky with the help of a coach and talking happily and later landing safely garnered attention on social media. Dorothy responded to the media that she was not afraid when she did the skydive, and she was happy.
