THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It has been decided to approve the draft of Kerala Municipality (Amendment) Ordinance, 2023. The draft of the Kerala Panchayat Raj (Amendment) Ordinance, 2023 was also approved. It will be recommended to the Governor for promulgation as an ordinance. The Ordinance deals with fines and penalties against litterers.
New Posts in Nursing Colleges
The cabinet meeting has decided to create teaching and non-teaching posts in 6 newly started nursing colleges in the government sector in the state. 79 posts will be created. Permanent posts of 5 Principals, 14 Assistant Professors, 6 Senior Superintendents, 6 Librarians Grade I, 6 Clerks and 6 Office Attendants have been created. Apart from this, temporary posts of 12 tutors, 6 driver cum office attendants, 6 housekeepers, 6 full-time sweepers and 6 watchmen have been allotted. The colleges are located in Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Palakkad, Wayanad and Kasaragod districts.
Positions to be created
It has been decided to create 9 posts in Thrissur Drugs Testing Laboratory. Ernakulam Valakom Mar Stephen Higher Secondary School will create 3 posts of HSST (Junior) in Hindi, Botany and Zoology, 3 posts of HSST in Maths, Physics and Chemistry and two Lab Assistant posts. It has also been decided to upgrade one HSST (Junior), English post.
Administrative approval for reconstruction of Tanur bridge
17.35 crore sanctioned for the reconstruction of Tanur Bridge. It has been decided to consider the project of Tanur Bridge Reconstruction Project instead of Fishing Harbor Bridge Construction in Tanur Town.
Tenure extended
The tenure of the works included in the Chief Minister's Local Road Rehabilitation Scheme, which are not completed after March 31, 2023, and the tenure of retired Superintending Engineers constituted to check the quality, has been extended till March 31, 2024.
Proposal accepted
The local self-governing bodies which have more than 200 per cent of maintenance grants available in this financial year and the having a total allocation of more than one crore, will be divided into 10 slabs, to meet the 2022-23 spillover liability of district panchayats. The proposal to find Rs 148.0175 crore by reducing the amount by 10 to 40 percent from the allocated funds was approved.
Land for building P Govinda Pillai Samskruti Study and Research Center
P Govinda Pillai Samskruti Study and Research Center was allotted land at Thycaud in Thiruvananthapuram. The land was leased for ten years at a rate of Rs 100 per year free of charge.
It has been decided to allot 25 cents of land at Cheruvaikkal Village, Thiruvananthapuram for setting up a regional office of NHAI at a fair price of Rs 1,38,92,736. This is based on the request of the National Highway Authority of India.
