THRISSUR: The police have filed a case against actor and BJP leader Suresh Gopi for leading a march from Karuvannur to Thrissur in protest against a cooperative bank robbery linked to loan fraud. The Thrissur East police have registered a case against approximately 500 people including BJP leaders for allegedly causing traffic disruptions.
On October 2nd which is Gandhi Jayanti, the BJP Sahakari Prakashana Padayatra was organized under the leadership of Suresh Gopi to protest against corruption and illicit funds in the cooperative sector. BJP state president K Surendran inaugurated the event and the concluding session was opened by M T Ramesh. The first complainant Suresh and family members of fraud victims were honoured during the march.
Suresh Gopi emphasized that the Karuvannur march was not about politics. He stated that his march was aimed at helping the underprivileged and those struggling in the cooperative sector.
