KOCHI: A year after the sensational Elanthoor double human sacrifice case came to light, it is suspected that the accused in the case had performed one more human sacrifice in the past. The Pathanamthitta Crime Branch is of the view that the three accused in the Elanthoor case were involved in the incident in which Pathanamthitta Mullassery native Sarojini was found dead under mysterious circumstances in 2014. After getting the permission of Ernakulam Additional Sessions Court, the Crime Branch team reached Viyyur jail and questioned Muhammed Shafi, Bhagaval Singh and his wife Laila, the accused in the human sacrifice case.

However, the Crime Branch has not yet received any evidence to confirm their role in the Sarojini mysterious death case. Sarojini, who had gone to work at a nearby house, was found dead on the roadside in Kulanada two days later. There were deep wounds on her hands and bruises on her body. The Sarojini murder case was handed over to the Crime Branch in 2018.

The wounds seen on Sarojini's body were similar to the wounds on the bodies of the women who were brutally killed in the human sacrifice case. Moreover, it was found that Bhagwal Singh was also present in the area during that time. It is believed that he made suspicious calls from his phone between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.

The Crime Branch team questioned the accused in the Elanthoor human sacrifice case based on these suspicions. The investigating team told the media that the interrogation was conducted only on the basis of suspicions.
