THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The draft of the final agreement between the and Keltron on the AI camera project is ready, but the Transport Department has not given permission. The department is of the view that further additions and deletions will be required and permission can be given after the final judgment of the case in the High Court. Legal advice has also been received in this regard.
The bill also includes a provision to reduce the refund proportionally if the camera does not work. The condition is that if the damage is not repaired even after the specified day, Rs 1000 will be deducted per day from the contract amount to be paid to Keltron. Keltron has not approved this. Therefore, it is agreed to make the necessary change after further discussion.
According to the preliminary agreement of the project, the Motor Vehicles Department has to pay Rs 232.25 crores to Keltron in 20 installments. The permission of the High Court to pay the first installment of Rs 11.79 crores was received on September 18 but it has not been handed over yet. The reason is the delay in the proceedings.
