THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the government's aim is to transform Kerala into a developed economy. He also pointed out that the state is on the path of transformation to a knowledge-based economy that will become a model for the world. He was inaugurating the 20th Globelics International Conference at Gulati Institute.

"This requires a fundamental change in the higher education sector. The government is trying to provide suitable jobs to the educated youth here. But strengthening the productive sector, creating more employment opportunities and creating new opportunities for income generation are challenges.", he said.

Minister KN Balagopal, who presided over the function, said that Kerala aims to create 20 lakh new jobs by 2026.
