THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Meteorological Center has issued a warning of heavy rain in the state today. As a result, a yellow alert has been declared in four districts. This rain is linked to a cyclone forming over Karnataka. The districts under the yellow alert are Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Thrissur and Palakkad. Furthermore, the state may experience rain with thunder and lightning in isolated areas over the next five days.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Center has alerted us to the possibility of waves and storm surges reaching heights of 0.5 to 1.8 meters along the Kerala coast until 12-10-2023, 11:30 PM.
The same center has also warned of potential wave heights and storm surges of 0.5 to 1.8 meters along the southern Tamil Nadu coast until 12-10-2023, 11:30 PM.

Due to worsening sea conditions, please adhere to the authorities' instructions and avoid high-risk areas.
Secure fishing vessels (boats, etc.) safely in the harbour. Keeping a safe distance between boats can prevent accidents. Ensure the safety of fishing equipment.
Completely avoid trips to the beach and any sea-related activities.
