CHENNAI: Two criminals were killed in a police encounter in Tamil Nadu. The incident happened around 3 am today. The accused attacked the police, who had come to arrest them in a murder case and in response, the Avadi police opened fire on the criminals. Muthu Saravanan and Sunday Satish were killed in the gunfire.
The victims were associates of the well-known gangster Bomb Saravan. The police had arrived to arrest them in connection with the murder of Parthibhan in Tiruvallur district. On August 17, Parthiban was found murdered near a temple in Padinallur. It's alleged that a gang of four people were involved in Parthiban's killing.
The police received a tip-off that the suspects were hiding in an empty building in Marappedu. When they approached, the suspects attacked three police officers leading to the police firing in what they claim was self-defence. Both individuals were rushed to the hospital but tragically their lives could not be saved. Muthu Saravanan had 13 cases against him including six for murder while Satish had five criminal cases on record.
