NEW DELHI: The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has stated that Hamas has carried out a terrorist attack in Israel. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said in a press conference that terrorism should be dealt with in all forms and that Hamas's is a terrorist attack.

The Ministry of External Affairs said that India's stand on Palestine has not changed and India has extended its support to the establishment of a sovereign, independent and viable Palestinian state. The Ministry of External Affairs made this clear after the review meeting of Operation Ajay announced by the center to bring back Indians from Israel.

Everyone must abide by humanitarian law. There is a global responsibility to respond to terrorism in all its forms. 230 Indians will be brought back from Israel on Friday in a chartered flight under Operation Ajay. The flight will reach Tel Aviv this evening. Arindam Bagchi added that India is closely monitoring the situation.

The Ministry of External Affairs has informed that the Malayali nurse Sheeja, who was injured in the rocket attack by Hamas in Israel, is in contact and that her health condition has improved.

The Indian Ambassador to Israel also participated online in the high-level meeting held in Delhi regarding the Operation Ajay mission. The meeting was chaired by Foreign Minister S Jaishankar.
