LUCKNOW: South Africa continues their winning streak in the ODI World Cup by beating the mighty Australia. South Africa won the match by 134 runs at the Ekna Stadium in Lucknow. This is South Africa's second win in a row and Australia's second loss in the World Cup.

Batting first, South Africa scored 311 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs courtesy of the batting of Quinton de Kock, who scored a century for the second time in a row. Australia were all out for 177 runs in 40.5 overs. The Australian missed half a dozen catches during the fielding which also played a role in the Aussies' defeat.

Toss to Australia

Australian captain Pat Cummins won the toss and sent South Africa to bat first. Openers De Kock (109 off 106 balls) and captain Temba Bavuma (35) gave South Africa a good start. Both made a partnership of 108 runs for the first wicket. In the fourth ball of the 20th over, Maxwell broke the partnership by dismissing Bavuma. Aiden Markram (56 off 44 balls) continued to excel yesterday as he scored the fastest century in the ODI World Cup in the last match. Maxwell dismissed de Kock in the 35th over. De Kock's innings included 8 fours and 5 sixes.

Gill resumes training

Indian opener Shubman Gill, who was unable to play in the first two matches due to dengue fever, has started training. He took batting practice in the nets for an hour yesterday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It has not been confirmed whether Gill will play in the much-awaited match between India and Pakistan in Ahmedabad tomorrow. Both the teams have reached Ahmedabad for the match.
