AHMEDABAD: Dubbed the ‘El Clásico’ of cricket, the high octane India- Pakistan World Cup match has started. India has won the toss and has decided to bowl first. In other news, India has made one change to the team. Shubman Gill has replaced Ishan Kishan as the opening batsman. Gill, the star pick in this year’s World Cup jumped on ill luck suffering from high fever and drowsiness just days before the tournament. Gill was omitted from India’s first two games in the World Cup.

India holds the record of never losing a World Cup ODI match to Pakistan. The team is in high spirits heading towards the Narendra Modi Stadium to repeat the glory against the neighbours.

Rohit Sharma-led India defeated Australia by six wickets in the first match and humbled Afghanistan by eight wickets in the second match. Pakistan beat the Netherlands by 81 runs and Sri Lanka by six wickets. Both teams will face for the third time in the tournament.

Babar Azam’s team are riding in confidence by winning the first two matches of the World Cup. The Pak team registered a historic World Cup win against Lanka in their second match.
