THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president K. Surendran said that the ED's report that it was the CPM who decided who gets loans from the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank clarifies the CPM's role in the fraud. Surendran stated that the ED report that illegal loans were given on the instructions of top CPM leaders and that the CPM sub-committee was placed to control the loans is serious.
'It has become common practice in the state for the ruling party to systematically rob the poor. They should say whether all this happened with the knowledge of the Chief Minister and MV Govindan. It is up to Govindan to say whether all the cooperative banks led by the CPM have this type of system. CPM's claim that only the governing body knew about the fraud in Karuvannur has been disproved.'
'The fact that the minutes of the bank have said exactly which people should be given benami loans removes all the defences of the CPM. The CPM leadership has given all the help to Satheesh Kumar. It is certain that Aravindakshan, who has done transactions worth crores of rupees in a short period, is a benami of CPM's top leaders.'
"The CPM leadership should apologize to the public for battling for Aravindakshan after the ED report came out. ED's decision to confiscate the properties of fraudsters is a strong warning to such fraudsters". K. Surendran said that the BJP will fight till the investors who lost money in Karuvannur get justice.
