KOCHI: As companies have put an end to 'work from home', which has been going on for two and a half years, there has been a mass exodus of workers. IT company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has reportedly lost around 100,000 employees. Most of them are women.

Many are flocking to work from home locations regardless of company name, title, salary, and benefits. After Covid, companies allowed work from home and by June 2022 have suggested that employees come to the office two days a week. When the companies announced that the office would be fully operational from January, the employees were upset.

Those who worked in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai cities were allowed to work in nearby offices, but it was difficult for those living with families.

Accommodation and travel problem

Cost of living has risen sharply in metro cities as the cost of education, travel, rent, etc. has doubled. Unable to bring family along. IT professionals have problems such as wasted time for office travel, and their parents who are left alone back home.
