JEDDAH: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is preparing to call an emergency meeting in the context of the continuing war between Israel and Hamas. The meeting will be held on Wednesday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The Arab countries decided to hold an emergency meeting at the ministerial level at the invitation of Saudi Arabia, which holds the post of chairmanship of the association.

Threats to defenceless civilians in Gaza and military expansion will be the focus of the meeting. The OIC officials informed that the situation in Gaza and other surrounding areas is deteriorating and therefore it was decided to convene the emergency meeting to hold discussions on improving military systems.

The OIC observes that Israel is ignoring the warnings of international organisations including the UN.GCC Secretary General Jassim Al Budaiwi demanded an end to the attacks targeting civilians. The OIC is the second largest organization in the world after the UN with 57 member countries. The organization describes itself as the collective voice of the Muslim world.

At the same time, Israel announced that two Hamas commanders were killed in a drone attack. Ali Qadi, the head of the commando force that planned the attack by Hamas, and Murad Abu Murad, the mastermind behind the missile and rocket attacks, were killed.
