THRISSUR: DYFI has elected VP Sarath Prasad as the district secretary of Thrissur. The new district secretary has been chosen in place of N V Vaisakhan. It is reported that Vaisakhan has been removed from the position after a complaint was filed against him. VP Sarath Prasad was the working secretary of DYFI. This decision was taken in the district committee meeting attended by Central committee member Greeshma Ajay Ghosh. Vaisakhan was removed from the charge of the district committee on the complaint of a woman leader last August. He was undergoing treatment on compulsory leave. Later, Vaisakhan was demoted from the district committee of CPI(M) to the branch committee. Sarath was given the temporary charge at this time. Following the allegations, the CPM district committee meeting had decided to remove N V Vaisakhan from all elected positions. He had been removed from the post of captain of the march which was started by DYFI in the district. At the same time, Vaisakhan was recently accused of offering money to a person who filed a complaint against a quarry in Vellikulangara, Thrissur. A video was also released in which Vaisakhan said that if the complaint was withdrawn, he would arrange money from the quarry owner. But Vaisakhan also came forward pointing out that he had only done arbitration on behalf of his friend, the quarry owner.
