CHENNAI: A car and a lorry collided in Tamil Nadu, killing eight members of a family. Three women and two children were among the dead. The incident took place on the Thiruvannamalai-Bangalore highway on Sunday. The family was returning to Bengaluru after visiting a temple in Thiruvannamalai Vizhupuram. Seven people died on the spot and one died while undergoing treatment. The injured were taken out by cutting open the car. The preliminary conclusion is that the cause of the accident was that the man named Satheesh, who was driving the car, fell asleep. After the accident, the lorry diver fled the scene. The police said that they have started searching for him.

Satheesh is a software engineer in Bengaluru. The car was completely destroyed by the impact. The bodies were shifted to the hospital. The police informed that the investigation is going on.
